Solicitor (0-3 PQE) - Court of Protection - Swindon
Are you a recently qualified Solicitor or early in your legal career and looking to specialise in Court of Protection work?
A highly regarded Top 100 UK law firm, recognised in both Legal 500 and Chambers, is seeking a Solicitor (0-3 PQE) to join its market-leading Court of Protection team. This is an opportunity to join a leading specialist team, supporting vulnerable clients and their families on a wide range of Property & Financial Affairs Deputyship and Personal Injury Trust matters.
Working alongside experienced Partners, Solicitors and specialist professionals, you'll develop your technical expertise while taking responsibility for your own caseload and building lasting client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and assisting on Property & Financial Affairs Deputyship matters
- Running your own caseload with appropriate supervision
- Preparing Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports
- Supporting the management of clients' financial affairs, including budgeting, payments and property transactions
- Assisting with the administration of Personal Injury Trusts
- Liaising with clients, family members, case managers, healthcare professionals and other advisers
- Attending client meetings and visits where required
- Developing expertise in areas such as statutory wills, care funding and welfare benefits
- Contributing to business development and helping strengthen client and referrer relationships
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales with 0-3 years' PQE
- A genuine interest in Court of Protection and vulnerable client work
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- The ability to build strong relationships with clients, families and professional contacts
- Strong drafting, analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Previous Court of Protection experience is advantageous, but candidates with transferable skills and a strong interest in the area are encouraged to apply.
