Managing Associate - Banking & Finance - Bristol

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Banking & Finance lawyer to join the Bristol office of a highly regarded Top 100 UK law firm. Recognised by both Legal 500 and Chambers, the firm is known for advising a diverse client base on complex, high-profile matters across the UK and internationally.

The Banking & Finance team handles a broad range of sophisticated transactions and has developed a strong reputation in areas including real estate finance, development finance, impact investment, sustainable finance and private wealth lending.

The Role
As a Managing Associate, you'll play a key role in advising a varied client base including banks, lenders, investors, developers, family offices and businesses on a wide spectrum of financing matters.
Your work will include:

  • Managing a range of banking and finance transactions from instruction through to completion.
  • Advising on lending arrangements, refinancing projects and debt restructurings.
  • Handling matters involving real estate finance, acquisition finance, development funding, project finance and corporate lending.
  • Drafting and negotiating finance documentation and security arrangements.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Corporate, Real Estate and Private Wealth teams on multi-disciplinary transactions.
  • Supporting UK and international deals and maintaining strong client relationships throughout.
  • Helping to mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the ongoing development of the team.
  • Supporting networking, business development and client growth initiatives.


Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate is likely to offer:

  • 7+ years' PQE in Banking & Finance.
  • Experience running complex finance transactions with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A background advising lenders, borrowers, investors or financial institutions.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to client service.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
  • The confidence to build and maintain lasting client relationships.
