Court of Protection Solicitor - 0-3 Years PQE - Cardiff
Location: Cardiff (hybrid working available)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 (dependent on experience)

A nationally recognised and award winning Court of Protection team is seeking a Solicitor (0-3 PQE) to join its specialist Property and Financial Affairs practice. The department is one of the largest of its kind in the UK, acting for hundreds of clients where the firm's Trust Corporation or a solicitor is appointed as Deputy or Trustee. The Role

You'll gain exposure to a broad range of Property and Financial Affairs Deputyship and Personal Injury Trust matters while developing your own caseload. Working alongside experienced Partners, Deputies, solicitors, case managers and healthcare professionals, you will support vulnerable clients and their families with the management of their financial affairs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the management of Property and Financial Affairs Deputyship matters
  • Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Preparing Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports
  • Supporting day to day financial management including budgeting, payments and property transactions
  • Assisting with the administration of Personal Injury Trusts
  • Liaising with clients, families, case managers, healthcare professionals and financial advisers
  • Working closely with paralegals and internal/external litigators
  • Attending client meetings and visits where appropriate
  • Developing knowledge of statutory wills, care funding and benefits


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a Solicitor with:

  • Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales (0-3 years' PQE)
  • Genuine interest in Court of Protection Property and Financial Affairs work
  • Excellent communication and client care skills, with the ability to support vulnerable clients
  • Strong organisational, drafting and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently and collaboratively
  • Proactive, flexible and team focused approach
  • Experience using case management systems and recording time
