Construction Associate Director - Bristol - Senior Non Contentious Construction
Location: Bristol (hybrid working available)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £90,000 to £130,000

A highly respected national firm is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Construction Associate Director to join its leading non contentious construction team in Bristol. This senior role focuses on advising major energy and energy transition clients on complex construction arrangements, including EPC, BOP, supply and O&M contracts. This is an exceptional opportunity to take a leadership role within a nationally recognised practice and contribute to the continued growth of a strategically important team.

The Role
You'll be responsible for leading on high value, complex non contentious construction matters, including:

  • Drafting and negotiating EPC, BOP, supply and O&M contracts for renewable energy, energy storage, wind and grid stability projects
  • Leading negotiation meetings and guiding client stakeholders through the negotiation process
  • Advising on procurement strategy, risk allocation and contract structure
  • Working closely with energy regulation, planning, real estate, corporate and project finance teams on multi disciplinary projects
  • Providing contract management and operational phase support, including variations and claims management
  • Collaborating with the contentious construction team on defects, claims and dispute related matters
  • Acting for leading clients including developers, investors, utilities and major energy operators
  • Supporting the wider team's growth strategy and contributing to business development


Candidate Requirements
This senior role is suited to a solicitor with:

  • Significant experience in non contentious construction (Associate Director level)
  • Strong experience negotiating FIDIC and NEC based agreements, EPC and O&M contracts
  • Confidence leading negotiations and supervising junior lawyers
  • Experience working on complex, multi party matters, particularly within project finance structures
  • Excellent technical knowledge and commercial awareness
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and client relationship skills
  • Motivation, ambition and commitment to developing sector expertise
  • A collaborative, team focused approach within a cross office environment
