Senior Associate / Legal Director - Construction Disputes - Bristol

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Lawyer to join a highly regarded Construction & Engineering team in Bristol.

This role sits within a Top 50 UK law firm with a strong national presence, multiple offices across the UK and an excellent reputation in both the Legal 500 and Chambers rankings. The firm is known for handling high-quality, complex work, investing heavily in its people and offering a genuinely collaborative culture.

Working as part of a specialist construction team, you'll advise an impressive client base across both the public and private sectors, including developers, contractors, funders, local authorities, NHS Trusts, education providers and consultants.

The Role
You'll play a key role in a busy and growing contentious construction practice, advising clients on:

  • Adjudication, litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution
  • Construction and engineering disputes across a range of sectors
  • Project-related risk management and dispute avoidance
  • Business development, networking and client relationship management
  • Mentoring and developing junior lawyers
  • Contributing to the continued growth and success of the team


This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate seeking the next step or an established Legal Director looking to join a high-performing national practice.

Candidate Requirements

  • Significant experience handling contentious construction matters
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Experience of adjudication, litigation and/or arbitration
  • Understanding of ADR and dispute resolution strategies
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
