Solicitor / Conveyancer - Residential Property - Bournemouth
Location: Bournemouth
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 (depending on experience)

A respected and well established law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor or Conveyancer to join its busy and high performing Residential Property team in Bournemouth. This is an excellent opportunity to manage complex, high value transactions while providing leadership, supervision and technical support to junior colleagues.

The Role
You'll be responsible for managing a varied and high quality caseload of residential property matters, including:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Re mortgages and transfers of equity
  • New build transactions
  • Shared ownership matters
  • High value and complex residential property transactions


You will independently manage files from initial instruction through to post completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory and best practice requirements. Alongside fee earning work, you will support business development initiatives, mentor junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a full caseload of residential property matters
  • Handling complex and high value transactions with minimal supervision
  • Achieving agreed billing and performance targets
  • Drafting and negotiating legal documentation
  • Undertaking Land Registry and post completion formalities
  • Providing technical guidance, mentoring and supervision to junior fee earners
  • Conducting legal research and staying up to date with changes in law and practice
  • Maintaining files in compliance with SRA, Law Society Conveyancing Protocol, CQS, LEXCEL and internal procedures
  • Maintaining clear and proactive communication with clients, agents, lenders and third parties
  • Assisting with billing and financial administration
  • Contributing to marketing, networking and business development activities
  • Producing articles or content for internal and external publication
  • Opening, closing and archiving files in accordance with firm procedures


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor or experienced Conveyancer with:

  • 10+ years' PQE or equivalent residential conveyancing experience
  • Extensive knowledge of residential conveyancing processes and property law
  • Strong understanding of the local Bournemouth and Dorset residential property market
  • Excellent organisational and caseload management skills
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and supervisory abilities
  • Exceptional client care and communication skills
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and technical legal skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to support business development
  • High levels of motivation, resilience and independence
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with case management systems
