Solicitor - Industrial Disease - Cardiff
Location: Cardiff (Hybrid)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £50,000 to £65,000

A well established regional practice is seeking a Solicitor to join its Industrial Disease team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, claimant focused Personal Injury department, advising clients on life changing workplace illness and occupational disease claims.

You will manage your own caseload with supervision and assist on more complex matters involving asbestos exposure, respiratory illness, noise induced hearing loss and other industrial disease claims. The role offers strong client contact, high quality work and a collaborative team environment.

The Role
You will support the wider Personal Injury team and deliver high quality claimant representation. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of industrial disease matters with appropriate supervision
  • Advising clients on liability, evidence and quantum
  • Drafting correspondence, witness statements and legal documents
  • Liaising with clients, medical experts, counsel and third parties
  • Reviewing medical records, employment history and evidential documents
  • Preparing well structured cases and progressing matters efficiently
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the PI team to support case strategy
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to business development and profile raising activity


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a Solicitor with:

  • Strong client care skills and a compassionate, empathetic approach
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of claimant PI work
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
  • Interest or experience in industrial disease, asbestos related claims or occupational illness work
