Senior Associate - Contentious Trusts & Estates - Exeter

Chadwick Nott are working with a highly regarded Top 100 UK law firm with a strong national and South West presence. Consistently ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers, the firm is recognised for its expertise across private wealth matters and is home to one of the largest specialist Contentious Trusts & Estates teams in the region.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contentious Trusts & Estates lawyer to join this well-established and growing team handling complex, high-value private wealth disputes.

Working alongside highly respected specialists, you will advise a broad client base including high-net-worth individuals, business owners, executors, trustees, charities, farmers and landed estate clients.

Your caseload will include:

  • Will validity and inheritance disputes
  • Inheritance Act claims
  • Executor and trustee disputes
  • Trust-related disputes
  • Professional negligence claims arising from estate and trust administration
  • Complex and high-value contentious private wealth matters


This is a role offering immediate exposure to quality work, significant client contact and the opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of a market-leading team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with 7+ years' PQE in Contentious Trusts & Estates or Private Wealth disputes.
  • Strong technical expertise and experience managing complex cases independently.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Commercially minded with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of networking, business development and helping to grow a practice.
  • Organised, resilient and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
