Residential Conveyancer - Plymouth

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join a thriving Property team at a well-established, forward-thinking South West law firm.
This is more than a fee-earning role. As a senior member of the team, you will play an important part in supporting the Head of Department, helping to develop colleagues, maintain service excellence, and contribute to the future growth of the department.
You will manage a varied and high-quality caseload from instruction through to completion while providing technical expertise, guidance, and mentoring across the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to post-completion
- Handle a broad range of transactions including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Remortgages
- Transfers of equity
- New build purchases
- Shared ownership matters
- Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process
- Build strong relationships with clients, agents, lenders, brokers, developers, and fellow professionals
- Support the supervision, coaching, and development of junior team members
- Contribute to business development activities and help strengthen professional networks and referral relationships
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Chartered Legal Executive with Advanced Practice Rights
- Minimum 5 years' PQE or equivalent residential conveyancing experience
- Proven ability to independently manage a busy residential property caseload
- Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of conveyancing transactions
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
Desirable
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting junior colleagues
- Experience building relationships and generating new business opportunities
