Real Estate Planning - Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) - Bristol
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Professional Support Lawyer to join the Planning team of a leading international law firm.
This is a fantastic role for a planning solicitor who enjoys knowledge management, technical excellence, innovation and thought leadership. You'll support one of the UK's premier planning practices, advising on some of the country's most significant development, energy and infrastructure projects.
The team is recognised as a market leader in the sector, working on complex matters including major developments, DCOs, compulsory purchase, planning appeals, infrastructure projects, judicial reviews and environmental planning issues.
The firm itself is a Top 25 UK law firm with a substantial international footprint, operating across multiple jurisdictions and consistently recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers for its strength across a wide range of practice areas. It is known for its innovation, sector expertise and involvement in some of the most high-profile projects in the market.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the planning team with knowledge management and legal know-how.
- Developing, maintaining and enhancing precedents and templates.
- Undertaking legal research and technical advisory work.
- Designing and delivering training programmes for lawyers.
- Producing articles, insights and client-facing publications.
- Supporting business development initiatives and profile-raising activities.
- Working closely with planning lawyers and wider knowledge teams across the firm.
- Opportunity for some fee-earning work alongside PSL responsibilities, if desired.
Candidate Requirements
Applications are welcomed from qualified solicitors who can demonstrate:
- Experience gained within a recognised Planning team.
- Strong technical planning law knowledge.
- An interest in knowledge management, training, research and innovation.
- Excellent drafting, communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
Previous PSL experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
