Professional Support Lawyer - Employment (Non Fee Earning)
Location: Cheltenham
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time or Part-time (hybrid working available)
Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 (DOE)
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Employment lawyer to join its market leading Employment, HR and Immigration team as a Professional Support Lawyer (non fee earning). This is a pivotal opportunity to take on a central role within a large, well established national team, shaping how knowledge is shared, how legal change is managed, and how consistently high quality advice is delivered to clients. With employment law evolving rapidly, this role will ensure the team remains responsive, accurate and ahead of the curve.
The Role
You'll be responsible for supporting the Employment team as the go to specialist for legal knowledge, updates and best practice, including:
- Staying ahead of developments in employment law, case law and legislation, and converting change into clear, practical guidance
- Owning and evolving the team's precedents, templates and know how resources
- Designing and delivering high impact training, CPD support and induction programmes
- Producing client alerts, thought leadership and supporting seminars
- Working closely with colleagues to strengthen the team's reputation as trusted advisers
- Identifying smarter ways of working through technology, automation and AI
- This is a non fee earning role, with only limited client work possible depending on interest and experience
This is a key position within a highly regarded national Employment, HR and Immigration team, offering the opportunity to influence knowledge strategy and support a large, busy and collaborative practice.
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a PSL/Knowledge Lawyer or a technically strong Employment Solicitor seeking to move into a professional support role. You will ideally have:
- Strong experience in UK employment law
- Excellent drafting, research and communication skills
- A genuine interest in legal developments and knowledge management
- Confidence delivering training to colleagues and clients
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently
- Interest in legal technology, innovation and improving ways of working
