Managing Associate - Banking & Finance - Bristol or Exeter - 7+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol or Exeter (Hybrid working)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £85,000 to £105,000

A highly regarded and forward thinking law firm is seeking a Managing Associate to join its experienced Banking & Finance team in either Bristol or Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic, commercial and collaborative environment, supporting high value domestic and international finance transactions while contributing to the strategic growth of the team.

The Role
You'll be responsible for leading and managing a wide variety of complex finance matters, including:

  • Real estate finance, acquisition finance, corporate lending, development finance and project finance
  • Drafting, negotiating and advising on facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor arrangements, loan notes and related finance documentation
  • Advising lenders and borrowers on new lending arrangements, refinancings and restructurings
  • Managing transaction workstreams and coordinating multi disciplinary teams
  • Supporting complex domestic and international transactions, including working with overseas counsel
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for further collaboration
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers
  • Contributing to strategic growth areas within the Banking & Finance team


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to an ambitious and commercially astute senior lawyer with:

  • At least 7 years' PQE in banking and finance transactions
  • A strong track record of leading finance matters and managing client relationships
  • Solid experience in sectors such as Sustainable Economy, Impact Investing, Financial Services, Private Wealth, Real Estate and International work
  • Excellent drafting skills and strong technical expertise
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence communicating at all levels
  • A proactive, commercial and professional approach
  • Ability to develop business networks and contribute to wider team growth
  • Self motivation, initiative and an innovative mindset
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and maintaining high professional standards
