An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Team Support Manager to join a highly regarded Employment & Immigration team in Cardiff.

This is a key operational role within a busy and growing practice, offering the opportunity to work closely with lawyers, support staff and senior stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the team. The successful candidate will play an important part in driving operational excellence, improving processes and supporting the delivery of an exceptional client service.

The Employment & Immigration team advises a diverse client base, including businesses, charities and national organisations, on a wide range of employment and immigration matters. As Legal Team Support Manager, you will work alongside fee earners and business support colleagues to help ensure the team operates effectively and efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the onboarding, induction and development of trainees, junior lawyers and support staff
  • Monitoring utilisation, workloads, time recording and team performance
  • Managing billing processes, work in progress and debt management activities
  • Producing and analysing management information and performance reports
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency
  • Supporting file management and compliance procedures
  • Working closely with Partners, Heads of Team and wider business services departments
  • Providing guidance and support to legal administrative teams
  • Assisting with operational projects and wider team initiatives

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a legal support, operations, team management or professional services environment. You should be highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing a variety of operational responsibilities within a fast-paced setting.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside experience monitoring financial performance metrics, billing processes, WIP and debt management. Previous experience coaching, mentoring or supervising support staff would be highly advantageous.

This role would suit an individual who enjoys improving processes, supporting teams and contributing to the success of a collaborative and high-performing legal environment.
