An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Lawyer to support a growing housing organisation on a flexible consultancy basis.
This short-term contract has been created due to a significant increase in workload and would suit a lawyer with experience advising housing associations, registered providers and organisations operating within the social housing sector. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and provide practical legal support across a range of property and housing-related matters.
The work will primarily involve drafting, reviewing and updating a variety of lease arrangements, supporting the organisation's housing operations across a number of local authority areas. The role offers flexibility and is anticipated to require approximately 1-2 days per week initially.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and updating a variety of lease agreements
- Advising on new lease arrangements
- Assisting with dilapidations matters
- Supporting housing-related property issues
- Advising on temporary and supported housing arrangements
- Providing legal input on rent-related issues involving private landlords
- Assisting with property management and asset-related matters
- Supporting legal requirements across multiple local authority areas
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience in property law
- Previous experience advising housing associations or Registered Providers
- Strong drafting experience across a range of lease types
- Knowledge of social housing, supported housing or temporary accommodation issues
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Strong commercial and practical judgement
