An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced compliance professional to join a growing legal services group as Group Compliance Manager.

This is a senior position with responsibility for overseeing compliance, risk and regulatory matters across multiple legal businesses. Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, ensuring robust regulatory frameworks, risk controls and governance processes are maintained across the group.

The role would suit an experienced Compliance Manager, Compliance Director, MLRO, Risk Manager or similar professional with a strong background within legal services or another regulated environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the firm's compliance and risk management framework
  • Advising senior management on regulatory and governance matters
  • Managing AML, sanctions and client due diligence processes
  • Supporting and advising the COLP, COFA and senior leadership team
  • Overseeing file reviews, audits and quality assurance processes
  • Managing data protection and information governance compliance
  • Handling lender panel compliance and ongoing monitoring
  • Maintaining regulatory policies, procedures and registers
  • Managing complaints, incidents, claims and risk matters
  • Liaising with insurers regarding professional indemnity, cyber and business insurance renewals
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and implementing required changes
  • Delivering training and guidance across the business
  • Producing management information and compliance reporting

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant compliance, risk or regulatory experience
  • Experience within a law firm, professional services business or regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of AML legislation and regulatory compliance
  • Experience conducting file reviews and compliance monitoring
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • The ability to interpret and implement regulatory requirements
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach

Experience within an SRA-regulated law firm is highly desirable but not essential. Candidates from wider regulated sectors with strong compliance and risk management backgrounds will also be considered.

Hybrid working is available (3 days in the office, 2 from home).

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and ambitious organisation at a time of significant development, taking ownership of a broad and varied compliance function with genuine strategic influence.
