Family Partner - Swansea- 8+ Years PQE
Location: Swansea (Hybrid working)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £75,000 to £100,000

A leading regional practice is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Family Partner to lead and grow its Family Law offering across the Swansea regions. This is a standout opportunity for an experienced family lawyer who is passionate about building a successful regional team, developing long term client relationships and shaping a high performing department from the ground up.

Alongside managing a high quality caseload, you will play a pivotal role in driving business development, raising the firm's profile across South Wales and identifying new opportunities for sustainable growth. Working closely with senior leadership, you will support the development and implementation of a strategic growth plan, recruit and mentor talent, and establish a leading Family Law presence across the region.

The Role

  • Leading the strategic growth and development of the Family Department across Swansea and Bridgend
  • Supporting the delivery of a regional business development strategy to expand market share
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, introducers, businesses and community stakeholders
  • Acting as a visible ambassador for the firm through networking, events and referral development
  • Managing a varied and high quality caseload, including complex and high value family matters
  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities
  • Recruiting, developing and leading a high performing regional Family team
  • Managing case files, correspondence and diaries in line with firm procedures and SRA requirements
  • Completing time recording, performance reviews and management information
  • Collaborating with colleagues across all practice areas to maximise cross referral opportunities
  • Delivering exceptional client service and maintaining the highest professional standards
  • Using the firm's Case Management System confidently and embracing new technologies
  • Completing safeguarding training and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns
  • Maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required by senior leadership


Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with 8+ years' PQE in Family Law
  • Proven track record managing complex family law matters including divorce, financial remedy, children matters and cohabitation disputes
  • Demonstrable experience winning new business and developing strong referral networks
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities for sustainable growth
  • Previous leadership or management experience, with the ability to recruit, develop and inspire teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ambition to establish and grow a leading Family Law practice
  • Commitment to maintaining a strong personal fee earning contribution
  • Outstanding client relationship and business development skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and networking abilities
  • Strong organisational and case management skills
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to adapt quickly to new systems
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity and commercial judgement
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider success of the firm
