Employment Solicitor - NQ - Bristol
Location: Bristol (Hybrid)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 (dependent on experience)

A highly regarded national practice is seeking a Newly Qualified Employment Solicitor to join its expanding Employment Team. The role will involve working predominantly with clients in the education sector, including state schools and further education colleges, while also supporting matters across business, charity and social enterprise sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, purpose driven team with a strong national reputation. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements are available.

The Role
You will work closely with experienced employment specialists and manage a varied caseload, including:

  • Providing employment law advice to clients and prospective clients
  • Managing Employment Tribunal matters with supervision where appropriate
  • Reviewing and drafting contracts of employment
  • Advising on disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Advising on TUPE matters
  • Preparing bespoke contracts, secondment agreements and consultancy agreements
  • Advising on discrimination issues (disability, age, religion/belief, sex)
  • Assisting with termination negotiations and settlement agreements
  • Understanding potential pension implications
  • Preparing cases for Tribunal hearings, including advocacy prior to final hearings
  • Meeting clients at their premises or at any office location
  • Working collaboratively across the wider firm
  • Supporting HR Consultants across multiple offices
  • Contributing to business development and client contact initiatives
  • Maintaining CPD and actively developing specialist knowledge


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a Newly Qualified Solicitor with:

  • Experience in employment law during training or post qualification
  • Strong commitment to career development and continuous learning
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Strong attention to detail
  • IT literacy and confidence using case management systems


Desirable

  • Experience within the education sector (not essential)
  • Previous experience in a similar employment role
