Employment Legal Director

I am currently working with a leading national law firm that is looking to strengthen its Birmingham team with the appointment of a Legal Director.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer seeking a senior role within a highly regarded practice, offering access to high-quality client work, a collaborative culture and a genuine platform for career progression.

The Opportunity

Joining an established and growing team, you will play a key role in advising a broad client base on complex and strategically important matters while helping to develop client relationships and support the growth of the practice.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of high-value and complex matters.
  • Providing commercially focused legal advice to a diverse client base.
  • Leading transactions, disputes or advisory projects, depending on your area of expertise.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across multiple offices and practice areas.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Supporting the continued development and success of the wider practice.


Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Technically strong with a proven track record in their practice area.
  • Commercially minded and able to deliver pragmatic, client-focused advice.
  • Confident managing client relationships and leading matters independently.
  • Experienced in supervising junior team members and supporting their development.
  • Enthusiastic about business development and profile raising.
  • A collaborative and proactive team player.
