Corporate Associate (1-5 PQE)

I am currently working with a highly regarded international law firm that is looking to recruit an Associate (1-5 PQE) to join its growing Emerging Companies practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious corporate lawyer who wants to work at the heart of the innovation economy, advising fast-growth technology and life sciences businesses, founders, investors and venture capital funds throughout the business lifecycle. The team works with some of the most innovative and disruptive businesses in the market, supporting clients from inception through to scale-up, investment and beyond.
The Opportunity
Joining a specialist emerging companies and venture capital team, you will advise high-growth businesses and investors on a broad range of corporate and investment matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising emerging technology and life sciences companies throughout their growth journey.
- Acting on venture capital investments, fundraising rounds and growth equity transactions.
- Advising venture capital funds, angel investors, syndicates and institutional investors on investment activity.
- Supporting portfolio companies with ongoing corporate and strategic matters.
- Advising on transactions involving universities, research organisations and innovation-led businesses.
- Working on nationally and internationally significant transactions alongside colleagues across multiple offices.
- Building strong relationships with founders, investors and key stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem.
- Contributing to business development initiatives and helping to grow the team's profile in the market.
Candidate Profile
This opportunity would suit a driven corporate lawyer who enjoys working with entrepreneurial businesses and innovative clients.
The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate:
- Between 1 and 5 years' PQE gained within a reputable corporate or venture capital practice.
- Strong drafting, transactional and technical legal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage matters effectively and prioritise competing deadlines.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and commercially focused approach to client service.
- An interest in business development and networking.
- The confidence to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- An interest in technology, innovation and emerging market sectors.
- Enthusiasm for legal technology and new ways of delivering legal services.
