Construction Solicitor (NQ - 3 PQE) - Taunton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Solicitor (NQ - 3 PQE) to join the highly regarded construction team of a Top 100 UK law firm with a strong national footprint and Legal 500 recognition.

This is an ideal role for a solicitor looking to develop their career in contentious construction law, working on a broad range of high-quality disputes and advisory matters within a collaborative and supportive team.

You will have the opportunity to advise clients on:

  • Construction and engineering disputes
  • Adjudications, litigation and dispute resolution
  • Pre-action protocol matters
  • Mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution
  • Strategic and commercially focused construction advice


While the role has a strong contentious focus, there is also the option to gain experience in non-contentious construction work if this is of interest.

You'll work with an established client base that includes:

  • National developers and contractors
  • Major housebuilders
  • Housing associations and registered providers
  • Businesses operating across a range of construction sectors


This position offers excellent exposure to complex work, hands-on responsibility and regular client interaction from an early stage.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (NQ - 3 years PQE)
  • Previous construction law experience, whether gained in a specialist team or through a construction seat during training
  • A genuine interest in contentious construction matters
  • Ability to manage your workload effectively with appropriate supervision
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Enthusiastic team player with a proactive attitude
