Clinical Negligence Solicitor / FCILEx
Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor, FCILEx or equivalent case handler to join a highly regarded and busy Clinical Negligence team based in Bristol.
This role offers a varied caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, including complex and high-value claims, together with the flexibility of hybrid working. The successful candidate will work predominantly from home, attending the Bristol office approximately 1-2 days per week.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of litigated claimant clinical negligence matters from inception through to conclusion. Working within a supportive team structure, you will receive guidance from experienced managers while maintaining autonomy over your files.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of litigated claimant clinical negligence claims.
- Handling complex and high-value matters both pre- and post-issue.
- Supervising and supporting colleagues where appropriate.
- Ensuring compliance with case management procedures, service standards and performance targets.
- Liaising with clients, counsel, medical experts, courts, insurers and defendant representatives.
- Participating in training, business development and marketing activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, FCILEx or experienced equivalent case handler.
- Proven experience managing litigated claimant clinical negligence and/or serious personal injury matters.
- Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and clinical negligence litigation.
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a busy workload efficiently and proactively.
- Confident working independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Experience of Legal Expenses Insurance, publicly funded matters and Conditional Fee Agreements would be advantageous.
