Clinical Negligence Solicitor / CILEX - Bristol - Claimant

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
A national law firm is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor or FCILEx to join its busy and well established claimant Clinical Negligence team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied and complex caseload within a supportive group structure, with flexibility to work from home 3-4 days per week.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing a litigated claimant clinical negligence caseload, including:
- Running your own caseload of pre and post issue clinical negligence claims
- Supervising junior colleagues under the direction of the Group Leader
- Using the firm's case management systems and adhering to SLAs and performance targets
- Achieving billing, time utilisation and telephony KPIs
- Participating in team training, marketing and wider departmental activities
- Working collaboratively within a friendly, professional group structure with clear support
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor, FCILEx or experienced case handler with:
- Experience managing a litigated claimant clinical negligence or serious PI caseload
- Strong knowledge of CPR and clinical negligence law
- Ability to deal sensitively with clients and work professionally with colleagues, experts, counsel, insurers and defendant representatives
- Experience with Legal Expense Insurance, publicly funded matters or CFAs (advantageous)
- Proactive case progression skills and the ability to drive matters to successful resolution
- Excellent organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to managing claims
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident use of IT systems and case management software
- Enthusiasm, motivation and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients
