Childcare Solicitor - East Midlands - 3+ PQE - Hybrid working
Overview
A national award winning firm seeks a Childcare Solicitor to join their team in the East Midlands. Ideally you will be based in their Derby office, but they can also consider their Leicester and Nottingham locations.
Responsibilities
- Providing expertise to parents, grandparents, other family members, interveners and children directly or through their CAFCASS appointed Children's Guardian
- Managing a varied general caseload, including CCMS procedures, Care Orders, Supervision Order, Emergency Protection Orders, Police Protection Orders, Special Guardianship Orders, Placement Orders, Adoption Orders, International Adoption Orders, Child protection case Conferences, Child protection review Conferences, defending allegations of injury, abuse or neglect, Child Arrangement Orders, Domestic abuse/violence cases, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders
- Preparing and drafting documents including witness statements
- Attending conferences and undertaking advocacy at Court
- Supervising trainee solicitors and caseworkers/paralegals
About you
- Experience of working as a Childcare Solicitor and dealing with a variety of cases
- Minimum of 3 years' PQE
- Strong client care skills and able to work under pressure
Experience in your own advocacy and Children Panel Accredited an advantage.
