Business Group Knowledge Lawyer - Corporate & Commercial - 5+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (with hybrid flexibility)
Salary: £75,000 to £105,000 (DOE)
A leading national law firm is seeking a Business Group Knowledge Lawyer (5+ years PQE) to join its Corporate & Commercial Services Business Group in Bristol. This senior role sits within a growing Knowledge function and offers the opportunity to shape innovation, legal technology adoption and technical excellence across a broad corporate and commercial practice.
The Role
You'll work closely with the Business Group Head (BGH), team leaders and the wider Knowledge Team to deliver strategic knowledge and innovation priorities across the Corporate & Commercial Business Group. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting specialist lawyers on technical excellence, training and best practice
- Leading innovation initiatives and promoting the firm's self service legal technology toolkit
- Acting as subject matter expert for legal technology tools used within the Business Group
- Preparing and, where appropriate, delivering client facing knowledge led content
- Driving continuous development of legal knowledge across all teams
- Ensuring processes are in place for early stage talent development and current awareness updates
- Supporting the adoption of AI and new ways of working across the Business Group
- Supervising and developing the Knowledge Paralegal
- Assisting with tender responses relating to knowledge management and innovation
- Working with business development teams on horizon scanning, thought leadership and client training opportunities
A strong grounding in Digital and Technology law is particularly advantageous, given the Business Group's specialist areas and the role's focus on innovation and legal tech.
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified lawyer with:
- 5+ years PQE within a commercial or corporate team in a large UK law firm
- Strong technical knowledge of UK commercial contracting
- A genuine interest in innovation, legal technology and embedding AI into legal processes
- Experience coaching, training or mentoring colleagues
- Confidence influencing change and introducing new concepts and processes
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret complex content clearly
- A proactive, self starting approach and comfort working with stakeholders across the business
- Experience driving change within a large law practice (highly desirable)
- Prior legal tech/AI experience is not essential, but enthusiasm for this space is
