Banking Associate / Senior Associate - Exeter

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Banking & Finance lawyer to join a highly respected Top 100 UK law firm, recognised by both Legal 500 and Chambers. With a strong regional foundation and national reputation, the firm is known for delivering exceptional client service and high-quality legal advice across a broad range of sectors.

The Banking & Finance team advises a diverse client base including lenders, financial institutions, private investors, impact funds and corporate borrowers on a wide range of financing matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload of banking and finance matters, including corporate lending, real estate finance, acquisition finance, development finance and project finance.
  • Preparing and negotiating loan agreements, security packages and supporting finance documents.
  • Advising clients on funding arrangements, refinancing projects and debt restructures.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Corporate, Real Estate and Private Wealth teams on multi-disciplinary transactions.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
  • Supporting the development of junior lawyers and contributing to team growth initiatives.


Candidate Requirements

  • 3-6 years' PQE gained within a Banking & Finance practice.
  • Strong experience handling banking transactions from instruction through to completion.
  • Confident drafting and negotiating finance documentation.
  • Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills.
  • Commercially aware, proactive and solution-focused.
  • Keen to play an active role in business development and the continued success of the team.
