Associate - International Private Client (Tax & Trusts) - Bristol - 4+ Years' PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £75,000 to £95,000 (dependent on experience)

A leading UK private client team is seeking an International Private Client Associate (4+ years' PQE) to join its highly regarded Tax & Trusts practice in Bristol. Recognised for its strength, scale and exceptional international capability, the team is ranked top tier by Chambers and works with an outstanding calibre of clients across the UK and globally. This is an excellent opportunity to undertake high value, technically complex work alongside industry leading advisers.

The Team

You will join one of the UK's most respected private client groups, known for its sophisticated cross border work and deep expertise in tax, trusts and succession planning. The team includes market leading specialists and offers exceptional exposure to international matters, complex structures and high net worth clients.

The Role
You will advise a diverse and high profile client base, including:

  • High and ultra high net worth individuals
  • International families and family offices
  • Business owners and landed estates
  • Private banks, wealth managers and trust companies

Your work will include:

  • Advising on UK statutory residence, long term residence and FIG regimes
  • Advising on the creation, structuring and UK taxation of trusts and family investment companies
  • Handling cross border estates, including drafting Wills and advising on succession and governance
  • Providing complex tax and succession planning advice for clients with international affairs
  • Working closely with senior tax advisers and partners on high value, technically challenging matters

This role offers exceptional quality of work, strong partner access and the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in international private client matters.

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a Private Client specialist with:

  • 4+ years' PQE (SRA or Law Society of Scotland registered lawyer)
  • Strong experience advising on international tax and succession planning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
  • Ability to manage a complex and varied workload effectively
  • Self motivation, commercial awareness and a willingness to learn
  • Experience supervising or developing junior colleagues
  • STEP qualification (desirable but not essential)
