Associate - Real Estate Development - 4+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (hybrid working with flexibility)
Salary: £70,000 to £96,000 (depending on experience)

A leading national commercial law firm is seeking an Associate (4+ PQE) to join its expanding Commercial Property team. The department has seen significant growth in recent years, supported by major tender wins and high profile regeneration and development projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a market leading team on large scale development matters while progressing your career in a collaborative, ambitious environment.

The Role
You'll be responsible for advising on a broad range of commercial property and development matters, including:

  • Large scale regeneration and development projects
  • Commercial and residential development work
  • Acquisitions, disposals and strategic land matters
  • Advising national and regional public and private sector organisations
  • Working closely with senior colleagues to develop specialist development expertise
  • Leading on a variety of high value projects
  • Supporting a collaborative and ambitious team culture
  • Maintaining high professional standards and compliance

Clients include major public bodies and private sector organisations such as:

  • Local authorities across the UK
  • Housing associations and major developers
  • Public sector organisations including London Boroughs, GLA, City of London, Peabody Trust and Places for People


The role also offers opportunities to meet clients regularly, grow your network and develop business development skills. There are genuine promotion prospects for those with ambition and the ability to progress.

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 4+ years PQE in commercial and/or residential development work
  • Strong drafting skills and legal analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence working directly with clients
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • A practical and commercial approach
  • Motivation, organisation and a proactive mindset
  • Interest in business development
