Associate - Catastrophic Injury / Large Loss - Bristol - 2-5 Years PQE
Location: Bristol (Hybrid working)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £60,000 to £75,000
A leading national law firm is seeking an Associate (2-5 PQE) to join its expanding Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multi award winning practice acting for major insurer and corporate clients on complex, high value and sensitive personal injury claims.
The Role
You'll be responsible for assisting partners and managing your own caseload across a broad range of catastrophic and large loss matters, including:
- High value motor, EL/PL, equestrian and cross border claims
- Liability investigations, policy coverage assessments and quantum analysis
- Handling complex multi track matters and supporting senior lawyers on catastrophic injury cases
- Drafting legal documents, preparing client advice and managing interlocutory applications
- Taking witness statements, reviewing medical evidence and conducting detailed investigations
- Liaising closely with insurer clients to achieve strategic and commercially focused outcomes
- Managing files proactively, including compliance with court timetables, SLAs and MI requirements
- Supporting partners with client development, technical excellence and innovation
- Contributing to marketing and business development activity within the team and wider casualty group
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a motivated and technically strong lawyer with:
- 2-5 years PQE (flexible for strong candidates)
- Experience handling catastrophic injury and/or large loss personal injury litigation
- Strong understanding of multi track claims and complex liability/quantum issues
- A determined, adaptable and proactive approach
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with insurer clients
- Ability to manage a busy caseload in a fast paced environment
- Commitment to delivering high quality client service and meeting SLA/MI requirements
