Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive - Private Client - Somerset - 3-6 Years PQE
Location: Somerset (Hybrid / Remote)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (with flexible working options)
Salary: £60,000 to £80,000 + KPI linked bonus

A long established and well regarded Somerset law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (3-6 years PQE) to join its growing Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied caseload within a supportive, forward thinking environment offering genuine flexibility, strong progression pathways and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

The Role
You'll be responsible for managing a broad range of Private Client matters, including:

  • Wills and estate planning
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Inheritance Tax advice
  • Estate administration (including complex and taxable estates)
  • Trusts and lifetime planning
  • Court of Protection and deputyship matters
  • Supporting elderly and vulnerable clients
  • Foreign assets or cross border estate matters (desirable but not essential)

You will also contribute to building strong client relationships, raising the department's profile locally and supporting the continued growth of the team.

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a Private Client specialist who is:

  • A Solicitor (3-6 years PQE) or Chartered Legal Executive (essential)
  • STEP / TEP qualified (desirable)
  • An experienced Private Client fee earner with strong technical ability (essential)


You will need:

  • A solid track record of managing your own Private Client caseload
  • Strong technical knowledge across core Private Client areas
  • Recent estate administration experience
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • The ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively
  • A positive, solutions focused approach
  • A full driving licence for occasional office travel


Experience mentoring junior colleagues would be beneficial.
