Planning Solicitor (1-4 PQE)
Location: Gloucestershire

The Role


A respected boutique practice is seeking a Planning Solicitor (1-4 years PQE) to join its growing planning and development team. This is a role offering exposure to high quality, complex work for landowners, developers and commercial clients navigating the town and country planning system.

You will support and lead on a broad range of matters, including:

  • Strategic planning advice at all stages of development projects
  • Engagement and negotiation with planning officers
  • Planning obligations, including s.106 agreements and statutory agreements under the Highways Act 1980
  • Highways and access issues
  • Listed buildings, conservation areas and heritage related matters
  • Development plans, including neighbourhood plans
  • Judicial reviews and statutory challenges to planning decisions
  • Advice on compulsory purchase and related procedures


You will work closely with land agents, valuers and specialist consultants, gaining insight into the wider development process and contributing to the strategic direction of projects.

Candidate Requirements

  • 1-4 years PQE with experience in planning law or a strong interest in developing a career in this area
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide clear, commercially focused advice
  • Confidence managing your own workload with appropriate supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Enthusiasm for working on complex development and planning matters
