Highly competitive salary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Legal Executive to join a specialist claimant medical negligence team on a maternity cover contract.
This is a part-time position, working 3 days per week, offering the opportunity to handle a varied and high-quality caseload within a supportive and well-established team. The role is expected to run from September 2026 to March 2027.
You will manage approximately 30 claimant clinical negligence matters at various stages, including cases involving misdiagnosis, psychiatric injury and fatal claims. Working with support from senior lawyers, you will be responsible for progressing files independently and delivering an exceptional level of client care.
Key responsibilities will include gathering evidence, identifying legal issues, drafting witness statements and particulars of claim, preparing schedules of loss, instructing counsel and experts, and communicating with defendants throughout the lifecycle of the case.
The successful candidate will be a Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years' PQE and proven experience running claimant medical negligence matters. Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a caseload independently are essential.
Given the nature of the work, candidates must be able to deal with clients sensitively and empathetically, appreciating the significant impact clinical negligence claims can have on individuals and their families.
