A leading legal services provider is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate - Professional Negligence to join its high-performing team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong lawyer to handle complex, high-value disputes while contributing to a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of professional negligence matters and play a key role in supporting team development and performance.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of complex professional negligence matters from inception through to resolution
  • Handling multi-track, high-value disputes with confidence and autonomy
  • Providing clear, commercially focused advice aligned to client and insurer objectives
  • Supervising, mentoring and supporting junior colleagues
  • Driving high standards of client care, technical quality and efficiency
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and team performance
  • Working closely with senior leadership to deliver on financial and operational targets
  • Ensuring efficient case management and strong commercial outcomes
  • Managing disputes through litigation, mediation and ADR where appropriate


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with:

  • 4+ years' PQE in Professional Negligence or complex litigation
  • Strong experience handling multi-track, high-value disputes
  • Excellent technical knowledge and litigation skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues (desirable)
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver pragmatic advice
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills
