The Role

This is a unique opportunity for a lawyer to step into a key risk and compliance role within a growing, forward-thinking firm.

Working as part of a specialist Risk & Best Practice team, you'll play a central role supporting the wider business on regulatory, professional and operational matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on SRA Standards & Regulations, ethics, conflicts and professional conduct
  • Providing guidance on AML, GDPR/data protection, and wider regulatory issues
  • Supporting on client terms, engagement letters and supplier contracts
  • Managing PI claims, complaints and insurer notifications
  • Drafting and implementing policies, procedures and best practice guidance
  • Delivering training across the firm on risk and compliance topics
  • Supporting internal audits, ISO compliance and regulatory registrations
  • Assisting with insurance renewals and governance processes


This is a varied and visible role, offering the chance to influence how the firm operates and manages risk at a strategic level.

Candidate Requirements
This role would suit a lawyer looking to move into (or further develop within) a specialist risk and compliance function.

You will:

  • Be a qualified solicitor or barrister (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate
  • Have experience in law firm risk, compliance or regulation
  • Possess good knowledge of key legal frameworks (e.g. SRA rules, AML, GDPR, Bribery Act, PoCA)
  • Understand professional conduct, client care and law firm regulatory obligations
  • Have strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Take a calm, pragmatic and commercially-aware approach


Experience with PI claims, internal audits or ISO standards would be advantageous, but not essential.
