Salary: £70,000 - £95,000 (depending on PQE and experience)

A leading international firm is seeking an ambitious Associate (1-3 PQE) to join its highly regarded Restructuring & Special Situations (RSS) team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on complex, high profile mandates across financial restructurings, distressed transactions and special situations, within a collaborative and globally integrated Banking practice.

The Role
You'll work closely with partners and senior lawyers on a broad range of restructuring and special situations matters, advising lenders, investors, corporates, boards, insolvency practitioners and financial advisers. Your work will include:

  • Assisting on financial restructurings, workouts and liability management exercises
  • Drafting and negotiating restructuring and finance documentation
  • Supporting transactions involving distressed debt, special situations lending and strategic investments
  • Advising on directors' duties, insolvency risk and creditor strategies
  • Conducting due diligence on capital structures, security packages and creditor positions
  • Supporting multi jurisdictional restructurings and cross border transactions
  • Liaising with clients, counterparties and advisers in fast paced, time sensitive situations
  • Contributing to business development and client initiatives

This role offers early responsibility, high quality work and exposure to both transactional and advisory elements of restructuring.

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a solicitor with:

  • 1-3 years' PQE gained at a leading City, international or strong regional firm
  • Experience in restructuring and insolvency matters
  • Strong exposure to finance documentation and transactional work
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • A proactive, ambitious and collaborative approach
  • Qualification as an SRA registered solicitor
