The Role

A rare senior opportunity to join a growing high quality planning practice within a respected boutique firm specialising in rural, development and land based work. You'll work alongside a highly regarded planning expert, taking the lead on a broad range of strategic planning matters.

This is a role with genuine autonomy, high value work and the chance to shape the future direction of the planning team.

You will:

• Lead on strategic planning advice from site appraisal through to determination and appeal
• Advise on s.106 agreements, highways matters and development frameworks
• Handle contentious planning issues including judicial review and CPO work
• Work closely with landowners, developers, farmers and rural businesses
• Collaborate with land agents, consultants and valuers on major schemes
• Play a key role in growing the planning offering and developing client relationships

Candidate Requirements

• You will be a senior planning specialist ready to step into a leadership role.

You will bring:

• Significant experience in planning law (applications, appeals, s.106, planning obligations)
• Strong technical skills across both contentious and non contentious planning matters
• Confidence supervising junior team members
• A commercial, solutions focused approach
• The ability to build strong relationships with landowners, developers and rural clients
• Interest in helping grow and shape a specialist planning practice
