Planning Partner / Legal Director - Gloucestershire
The Role
A rare senior opportunity to join a growing high quality planning practice within a respected boutique firm specialising in rural, development and land based work. You'll work alongside a highly regarded planning expert, taking the lead on a broad range of strategic planning matters.
This is a role with genuine autonomy, high value work and the chance to shape the future direction of the planning team.
You will:
- Lead on strategic planning advice from site appraisal through to determination and appeal
- Advise on s.106 agreements, highways matters and development frameworks
- Handle contentious planning issues including judicial review and CPO work
- Work closely with landowners, developers, farmers and rural businesses
- Collaborate with land agents, consultants and valuers on major schemes
- Play a key role in growing the planning offering and developing client relationships

Candidate Requirements
- You will be a senior planning specialist ready to step into a leadership role.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in planning law (applications, appeals, s.106, planning obligations)
- Strong technical skills across both contentious and non contentious planning matters
- Confidence supervising junior team members
- A commercial, solutions focused approach
- The ability to build strong relationships with landowners, developers and rural clients
- Interest in helping grow and shape a specialist planning practice
