Non Contentious Construction Associate / Senior Associate (5+ PQE) - Bristol
Location: Bristol

Salary: £70,000 to £90,000 (depending on experience)
A leading national commercial law firm is seeking a Non Contentious Construction Associate or Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join its highly regarded Construction team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high value, complex transactional construction matters within a nationally recognised practice.
The Role
You will join a market leading construction team advising on major UK projects across sectors including education, housing, government, health, leisure, highways and energy. Responsibilities include:
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on construction and project documentation (JCT, NEC and bespoke forms)
- Advising on professional appointments, collateral warranties and security documents (performance bonds, PCGs)
- Providing clear, commercial advice on risk allocation and bespoke contractual solutions
- Managing transactions from instruction to completion, coordinating with clients, funders, in house counsel and project stakeholders
- Keeping up to date with legal and market developments and contributing to know how, training and client briefings
- Building strong client relationships and supporting business development initiatives
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:
- 5+ years' PQE in non contentious construction
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating JCT/NEC contracts and related documentation
- Familiarity with collateral warranties, performance bonds and parent company guarantees
- A commercial, pragmatic approach to risk and client advice
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
- Confidence managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build long term client relationships
- A collaborative, team focused mindset
- An interest in the construction sector and the work of regional and national clients
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to engage in BD and networking
