A highly regarded UK law firm is seeking an Experienced Trade Mark Attorney (5+ PQE) to join its leading Intellectual Property practice in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work with high profile global brands across retail, food & drink, FMCG, media, and sports & leisure, while contributing to a top tier IP team known for its depth of expertise and collaborative culture.

The Team

The wider IP and Media practice includes solicitors at all levels, alongside a dedicated team of qualified Trade Mark Attorneys. The team is ranked top tier in both Chambers and Legal 500 for its ability to handle complex, high profile, and specialised matters.

The practice advises a diverse portfolio of national and international clients, including major household names across multiple sectors. Typical client work includes:

  • Global brand protection
  • UK and EU trade mark matters
  • Strategic IP portfolio management
  • High value contentious and non contentious IP work


The Opportunity

This role is based full time in the firm's Bristol office, with hybrid working arrangements available.

You will take a leading role in advising national and international clients on trade mark clearance, protection, enforcement, and strategy. You will work closely with a close knit team of contentious and non contentious IP specialists, contributing to the continued growth of the practice and strengthening long term client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing global trade mark and design filings
  • Advising on contentious registry proceedings
  • Developing worldwide filing strategies and liaising with local counsel
  • Providing trade mark clearance advice
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the wider commercial and IP teams
  • Supporting the development of junior team members (where applicable)


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney with:

  • At least 5 years' post qualification experience
  • Strong experience in trade mark clearance, protection, and enforcement
  • Excellent client care skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a high performing team
  • Confidence working independently, including when working remotely
  • Experience supervising junior colleagues (advantageous)
