Planning Associate / Senior Associate - Bristol
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a nationally recognised Planning team operating at the forefront of major UK infrastructure, energy and development projects. This is a chance to join a leading independent UK law firm known for its high profile work, collaborative culture and modern, people focused approach.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and increasing client demand, the firm is looking for planning lawyers at various levels to join its market leading Planning & Compulsory Purchase team. You'll play a key role in delivering strategic advice across a broad range of complex planning matters, including:
- Town and country planning
- Development consenting
- Compulsory acquisition / purchase and compensation
- EIA / HRA
- Inquiries, examinations and judicial review
You'll work as part of a fully integrated team across offices, advising on some of the most high profile and nationally significant projects in the UK. Expect exposure to major schemes across energy, infrastructure, transport, utilities and the built environment.
This team welcomes applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including private practice, local government, in house roles and those who have moved into planning law later in their career.

Candidate Requirements
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) or Law Society of Scotland registered lawyer
- Ideally 3+ years' post qualification experience in planning law
- Experience across a range of planning, consenting or CPO matters
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Ability to manage a varied and complex workload
