Education Partner - Bristol
A standout opportunity for an experienced education lawyer to take a senior strategic role leading work with academies and state schools. This position sits within a top 100 national law firm known for its full service offering, strong sector expertise and long established reputation in education, charities and public sector work.
The Role
You'll act as the lead adviser for state funded schools within a highly regarded Regulatory, Risk & Resolution team. The work is varied, complex and sector shaping, covering public law issues across the education landscape. Expect to work closely with MATs, SATs and state schools on matters such as:
- Registration and inspection
- Admissions and appeals
- Complaints, governance and decision making
- SEND and discrimination
- Pupil discipline and safeguarding
- Critical incident management
- Investigations
- Civil claims and judicial review
This is a visible leadership role with the scope to influence strategy, grow the practice and work alongside nationally recognised specialists.
Candidate Requirements
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Significant experience advising state funded schools and trusts
- Strong grounding in public law as it applies to the education sector
- A recognised sector profile and established network
- Technical excellence and the ability to act as a trusted adviser
- Confident communication, leadership and relationship building skills
- Experience managing complex matters and collaborating across teams
- A following would be advantageous but not essential
