A superb opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join a market leading Financial Services Disputes and Investigations (FSDI) team in Bristol. This is one of the UK's largest and most highly regarded financial services litigation teams, with over 150 specialists across the UK. The team is consistently ranked in the top tier by Chambers for financial services litigation outside London.

You will work on exceptional, high value and complex matters for an impressive client base, including major UK clearing banks, building societies, private and wealth banks, digital banks, international banks, payment service providers and fixed charge receivers.

The Role
As a Senior Associate, you will work on a broad range of contentious matters, with a particular focus on professional negligence. You will have the opportunity to work with major financial institutions including NatWest Group, Lloyds Banking Group and Nationwide Building Society.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Running a varied contentious caseload centred on professional negligence
  • Providing strategic and commercial legal advice on a range of disputes
  • Supervising and supporting junior team members
  • Working alongside senior lawyers on complex, high value matters
  • Participating in business development and nurturing client relationships
  • Assisting with legal updates, know how and internal knowledge development


This role is ideal for someone with genuine drive and ambition who enjoys client contact, relationship building and developing a specialist practice.

Candidate Requirements
You will be/have:

  • A qualified solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered), ideally 4-6 PQE (applications outside this range considered)
  • Experience running your own caseload of professional negligence matters
  • Strong understanding of the CPR and litigation process
  • Ideally experience in financial litigation, though backgrounds in insurance, property or commercial litigation are also welcomed
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers (desirable)
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in client relationship management
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for supporting junior colleagues


The Team
You will join one of the UK's largest dedicated Financial Services Disputes practices, acting for a wide range of financial institutions including major UK and international banks, challenger banks and fintechs. The team advises across the full spectrum of contentious issues, including dispute resolution, pre litigation strategy and ADR.
