Solicitor - Family - Somerset - Hybrid
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Family Solicitor (2+ PQE) to join a highly regarded and supportive legal team in Somerset. This role is ideal for a motivated lawyer with a genuine passion for child law and a desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable families. Working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, the successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of public family matters while benefiting from strong internal support and professional development.
The position offers high-quality work, including complex care proceedings, and the chance to develop advocacy skills in a rewarding and purpose-driven area of law. The firm is committed to delivering compassionate, client-focused advice and achieving the best possible outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of public law children matters, including care proceedings, emergency orders, and adoption cases
- Providing clear, empathetic advice to clients in sensitive circumstances, while maintaining excellent standards of client care
- Representing clients in Family Court proceedings, conducting advocacy where appropriate and liaising with Counsel when required
- Preparing legal documentation and ensuring compliance with Legal Aid requirements, statutory obligations, and case management best practice
