Salary: £120,000 to £150,000 (DOE, Partner level)

A well established regional firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Partner level Planning Solicitor to lead and grow its planning offering in Gloucestershire area. This is a strategic senior hire, ideal for a lawyer with strong technical expertise and (ideally) an existing following or established client relationships. The firm is open to paying up to £150k for the right Partner level candidate.

The Role
You will take a leading role in delivering high quality planning and property related work, including:

  • Overseeing continuous and non contentious planning, property and agricultural matters
  • Advising on tenancies, sales and purchases, and environmental matters
  • Handling property focused disputes and litigation
  • Managing the full spectrum of planning work: applications, appeals, Section 106 agreements and planning obligations
  • Acting for landowners, rural clients, developers and commercial stakeholders
  • Leading client relationships and driving new business opportunities
  • Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
  • Playing a key role in the strategic development of the planning practice


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a senior planning specialist with:

  • Significant experience in planning law, ideally at Senior Associate or Partner level
  • Strong technical expertise across planning, property and agricultural matters
  • Experience handling planning applications, appeals and Section 106 agreements
  • Confidence managing both contentious and non contentious matters
  • Excellent drafting skills and commercial judgement
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to advise clearly and strategically
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach
  • Ideally, an existing following or established client relationships
  • Appetite to contribute to business development and practice growth
