A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Insurance Disputes team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a collaborative, high performing environment, working on a broad range of domestic and international insurance matters with strong partner support and clear progression.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of insurance dispute matters, including:
- Advising on insurance coverage, interpretation issues and liability claims
- Handling subrogation matters and personal injury claims (both Claimant and Defendant)
- Representing clients through litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution
- Advising on contractual issues relating to insurance disputes
- Assisting with civil litigation matters where required
- Taking client instructions, attending meetings and managing compliance procedures
- Progressing cases through the litigation process and considering ADR options
- Conducting legal research and preparing written advice
- Participating in team marketing and profile raising initiatives
- Ensuring files are managed in line with Lexcel procedures and client service standards
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:
- Strong technical skills and the ability to manage matters independently where appropriate
- Excellent client facing skills and a commitment to high quality service
- Drive, enthusiasm and a proactive, solutions focused approach
- Commercial awareness and credibility
- Strong academic background
- Ability to manage volume work effectively and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Confidence taking responsibility and progressing files independently
