We are partnering with a highly regarded, Legal 500 recognised Welsh firm who are seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor (5-8 PQE) to join their growing employment team in their Bangor office. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a stimulating and varied caseload, advising employers, senior leaders and employees on a wide range of contentious and non contentious employment matters.

You'll be joining a supportive, close knit team with a strong reputation across Wales, handling complex advisory work and managing your own Tribunal matters from initial instruction through to final resolution.

The Role

You will enjoy exposure to the full breadth of employment law, including:

Contentious work:

  • Running Employment Tribunal cases independently, including drafting pleadings, managing disclosure and preparing witness evidence.
  • Advising on high value and complex claims such as discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair and constructive dismissal, equal pay, breach of contract and redundancy disputes.
  • Supporting or conducting advocacy at preliminary hearings and participating in settlement discussions.
  • Providing strategic advice on dispute management, risk and settlement options.

Non contentious work:

  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, service agreements, policies and staff handbooks.
  • Advising on disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability procedures.
  • Supporting clients through restructuring and redundancy processes.
  • Advising on TUPE, due diligence and employment aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Conducting or assisting with internal investigations, including complex grievance, disciplinary or whistleblowing matters.
  • Delivering clear, commercial advice to business owners, HR professionals and senior management teams.

This role offers genuine variety, autonomy and the chance to build strong client relationships across a range of sectors.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with 5-8 years' PQE in employment law.
  • Strong experience across both contentious and non contentious matters.
  • Confident managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent drafting skills and a solid understanding of UK employment legislation.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
  • Organised, commercially minded and able to work calmly under pressure.

Why Join?

  • Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, private medical insurance, enhanced family leave and more.
  • Hybrid working available (up to 2 days from home after probation).
  • Supportive, friendly and collaborative culture.
  • High quality, varied employment work with clear opportunities for progression.
