Solicitor - Crime / Regulatory - Merthyr Tydfil - Duty Solicitor
Location: Merthyr Tydfil (with paid travel to courts and police stations)

Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 (depending on experience)
A well established regional law firm is seeking a Criminal Duty Solicitor to join its busy and growing Crime/Regulatory team. With multiple offices across South Wales and a strong reputation for delivering accessible, community focused legal services, this is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who wants to make a meaningful impact while developing their career within a supportive and ambitious environment.
The Role
You will take ownership of a varied and hands on caseload, representing clients at all stages of the criminal justice process. Responsibilities include:
- Managing a diverse and busy criminal caseload
- Providing representation at police stations and courts (with paid travel)
- Delivering high quality, client focused advice and advocacy
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm
- Contributing to the continued development of the Crime/Regulatory team
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor who:
- Is a Criminal Duty Solicitor (or working towards accreditation)
- Has experience across the full spectrum of criminal matters
- Demonstrates strong advocacy, communication and client care skills
- Is confident managing a fast paced caseload independently
- Is organised, proactive and committed to delivering high quality legal services
- Shares a commitment to access to justice and community impact
