A leading national commercial law firm is seeking an experienced Defendant Insurance Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its Litigation, Advisory & Regulatory department in Bristol.

Consistently ranked in The Law Firms and highly rated in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, the firm continues to deliver year on year revenue and profit growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, expanding team acting for high profile public and private sector clients.

The Role
Due to significant new client wins, the firm is seeking a senior litigator to join its market leading Insurance team. You will:

  • Manage a caseload of high value, multi track personal injury and property damage claims
  • Defend claims for insurers, local authorities and public sector bodies
  • Handle complex liability issues and coverage disputes
  • Work closely with partner leads and colleagues across the national office network
  • Supervise and support junior lawyers within the team
  • Manage your own matters with autonomy while delegating effectively
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the department


This is a key opportunity to join a nationally recognised litigation team acting for clients delivering essential public services.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Strong experience handling high value personal injury and property damage claims
  • Experience acting for insurers and/or public sector clients
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues
  • Excellent client management skills with a commercial, pragmatic approach
  • Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for business development


Desirable

  • Experience handling disease claims
  • Prior involvement in coverage disputes
  • Interest in contributing to wider departmental initiatives
