Associate - Technology & Data Protection - 2+ PQE - Exeter
Location: Exeter (hybrid working)

Salary: £60,000 - £72,000 (depending on experience)

A leading national law firm is seeking a Technology & Data Protection Associate (2+ PQE) to join its Commercial team in Exeter. This role offers exposure to cutting edge technology, data protection and commercial work, with the opportunity to work closely with high profile clients across multiple sectors.

The Role

  • Advise a wide range of clients on commercial, technology and data matters
  • Support tech suppliers and scale ups launching new digital products
  • Draft and negotiate technology contracts (SaaS, cloud, outsourcing, licensing)
  • Work on data protection compliance, audits, DPIAs, DSARs and data transfer projects
  • Support delivery of the firm's data breach readiness product
  • Advise on strategic data use and marketing compliance
  • Support corporate and private equity transactions on tech/data aspects


Candidate Requirements

  • 2+ years' PQE in Commercial / Technology / Data Protection
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage client relationships
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach
  • Interest in innovation and business development
