Court of Protection Solicitor - Bristol or Gloucester
The Role
A standout opportunity for a Court of Protection Solicitor to join a respected, long established national law firm with a strong reputation in personal injury, clinical negligence and complex private client work.
Working within a specialist COP team, you'll manage a varied caseload involving vulnerable and brain injured clients. You'll support senior lawyers on complex matters while taking responsibility for your own files and helping to guide junior colleagues.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing Property & Affairs, Deputyships, Trusts and Statutory Wills
- Supporting clients with financial decisions, lifestyle needs and welfare issues
- Preparing COP applications, including PI Trusts and Welfare Deputyships
- Supervising and delegating to paralegals/trainees
- Ensuring compliance with SRA and OPG Deputy Standards
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx (3-5 PQE) with COP and/or Clinical Negligence experience
- Strong technical knowledge of Court of Protection law and vulnerable client work
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage a busy caseload
- Confident supervising junior team members
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to client care
- Competent with case management systems and general IT
