Hybrid: 2 days office / 3 days home

The Role


Fantastic opportunity for a Solicitor or CILEX with strong claimant clinical negligence experience to join a growing and highly regarded Clinical Negligence team. This national firm is well known for its specialist litigation work, long standing partnerships with major insurers and membership organisations, and its consistent presence in legal rankings.

You'll handle a varied caseload of complex and high value clinical negligence matters, both pre and post issue. Alongside running your own files, you'll play a key part in supervising and developing a small team of case handlers, contributing to the group's ongoing success.

This hybrid role requires attendance in the Cardiff office two days per week, with the remainder worked from home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of complex, litigated clinical negligence claims
  • Supervising and supporting case handlers under the guidance of the Group Leader
  • Leading case planning, weekly risk assessment meetings and 1 2 1 supervision
  • Providing ad hoc advice and guidance to junior colleagues
  • Taking part in team training, marketing and wider departmental initiatives
  • Helping maintain and refine case management procedures


Candidate Requirements
We're looking for someone confident, organised and motivated, with a genuine passion for claimant clinical negligence work.

You will bring:

  • Solid claimant clinical negligence experience with a strong litigation background
  • Ability to manage complex, high value claims from issue through to resolution
  • Experience supervising, coaching or mentoring junior team members
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support clients sensitively
  • Excellent organisational skills and a pragmatic, solutions focused approach
  • Good working knowledge of CPR and clinical negligence law
  • Proficient IT skills and confidence managing your own workload


Experience with Legal Expense Insurance, publicly funded matters or CFA arrangements would be beneficial.
