The Role

Excellent opportunity for a senior Solicitor or CILEX with solid claimant clinical negligence experience to join a thriving and well respected Clinical Negligence Group within a national law firm. The firm is known for its strong reputation in claimant litigation, long standing partnerships with major insurers and membership organisations, and a consistent presence in legal rankings.

Working solely on claimant clinical negligence matters, you will manage a varied and often complex caseload, including high value claims both pre and post issue. Alongside running your own files, you will play a key role in supervising and mentoring a small team of motivated case handlers.

Duties/Responsibilities include:

  • Managing your own caseload of complex, litigated clinical negligence claims
  • Supervising and supporting case handlers under the direction of the Group Leader
  • Delivering structured training, case planning and weekly risk assessment sessions
  • Conducting 1 2 1 supervision and providing ad hoc guidance
  • Participating in team training, marketing and wider departmental activities

This is a busy, high performing team, so we're looking for someone confident, organised and proactive.

You will bring:

  • Strong claimant clinical negligence experience with a proven litigation background
  • Ability to manage complex, high value claims from issue through to resolution
  • Experience supervising, coaching or mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal sensitively with clients and professionally with experts
  • Strong organisational skills and a pragmatic, solutions focused approach
  • Good working knowledge of CPR and clinical negligence law
  • Proficient IT skills and confidence managing your own workload

Experience with Legal Expense Insurance, publicly funded matters or CFA arrangements would be advantageous.

Why Join?

You'll be joining a national firm known for its supportive culture, high quality work and commitment to developing its people. The firm offers the structure and stability of a large organisation while maintaining a friendly, collaborative environment.

Benefits include:

  • Excellent annual leave and wellbeing support
  • Health cash plan, lifestyle and gym benefits
  • Hybrid working
  • Recognition and referral schemes
  • Clear development pathways and routes to qualification
